Ultra 2500 Upright Arcade Video Game Machine Cabinet

Hi! Introducing the Ace Amusements brand new (2017) Ultra 2500 upright arcade video game machine cabinet.

Previously, for our Ultra 2500 upright cabinet, we have used with great success, the Golden Tee Golf style cabinet and the Midway Killer Instinct style cabinet.

We have refurbished and built new both style cabinets. You can see lots of photos of them around this website.

While both cabinet styles look and perform great, they both have some drawbacks - they both are too deep, and one is also too tall.

Thus, they would take up too much space in the customer's game room, and the Golden Tee Golf cabinet would not fit against the wall in a room with a sloped roof line.

And worse, the two cabinets are too deep to negotiate stairways with sharp turns.

If you have a stairway with a turn that looks like the one in the photo, chances are good that neither cabinet would make the turn, especially not the Golden Tee Golf cabinet.

So, for our Ultra 2500 game machine, we modified and improved upon the Midway Killer Instinct cabinet - which is the cabinet that is a bit shorter and the less deep of the two.

Our new Ultra 2500 game machine will fit in your game room, through your doorways, and up or down your stairway without any trouble.

The Ultra cabinet will be the standard cabinet for these products:

Multi Williams Arcade Video Machine

And, for other applications, such as for a competition fighting games machine, as seen in section H photo below.

Specs and photos of our new Ultra 2500 upright cabinet -

A. Overall cabinet dimensions:

1) Max bottom to top height = 73" high (plus any height added by wheels or levelers, +2" to +3").

2) Max depth front to back at control panel deck = 35-3/4" deep.

3) Max width side to side at 2-player control panel deck = 28-1/4" wide.

4) Max width side to side at 4-player control panel deck (see section G below) = 41-1/2" wide.

5) Max footprint at bottom = 26-3/4" wide x 33-1/4" deep.

6) Clearances -

The Ultra cabinet with standard (2-player) control panel deck attached will easily fit through stairways and standard residential inside doorways.

For the wider (4-player) size control panel, the deck is detached and rotated, and will easily fit through stairways and standard residential inside doorways (see section G below).

Standard residential inside doorway opening clearance:

Typical doorway clearance with fully opened door = 31" clearance.
Clearance with door only one-half way opened = 29-1/2" clearance.

B. Outer side panel dimensions:

These dimensions also apply to the full skirt side art template shown in section D below.

1) Height at rear = 70" high.

2) Max top height = 73" high.

3) Width at bottom (not counting lower front 3-1/4" wide inset area) = 29-3/4" wide.

4) Lower front inset (no art, usually painted) = 3-1/4" wide x 29-7/8" high.

5) Narrowest front to back (located above monitor) = 10-1/8" wide.

C. Front dimensions:

1) Marquee size = 25" wide x 8-1/4" high (with image display of 25" wide x 7" high).

2) Kick (coin door) area = 23-1/2" wide x 29-3/4" high.

3) Standard control panel deck (2-player) = 28-1/4" wide x 5" high.

4) Standard control panel top (not shown) = 26-5/8" wide x 13-1/4" deep.

5) Wide control panel deck (4-player) (not shown, see section G below) = 41-1/2" wide x 5" high.

6) Wide control panel top (not shown, see section G below) = 40" wide x 13-1/4" deep.

D. Example custom full skirt side art:

This example can serve as a template for design of full skirt side art.

It complies with our new Ultra cabinet dimensions.

It does not include the 3-1/4" wide x 29-7/8" high inset at cabinet lower front (an area usually painted, which can be seen in section E photo below).

F. Example side medallion graphic placement:

Shown is the original size (roughly 20" wide x 26" high) Donkey Kong side medallion graphic.

If you choose to add a medallion style of side graphic, this photo illustrates typical medallion size and placement. The cabinet side would be painted whatever color you select (shown is the primer coat).

A smaller "decal" size graphic (say, an oval 4" x 6") can be placed higher on the cabinet side nearer to the cabinet top than can a medallion.

For comparison of medallion positioning, photo of an original Donkey Kong arcade machine with the same side medallion is shown.

G. Example of Ultra machine with wide control panel:

The wide control panel is used to accommodate additional controllers, such as for:

controls for a 3rd player, or
controls for a 4th player, or
Defender layout controls (as shown in photo), or
specialty controls, such as for Q*bert, or
anytime there are more controls than can be comfortably and ergonomically used with the standard (2-player) size control panel.

For shipping and delivery, the wide control panel and its deck is detached from the cabinet and rotated (see section I photos below) so that the cabinet will continue to easily fit through stairways and standard doorways.

This example photo is of our new Ultra cabinet with the wide control panel.

Note the customized control panel. For this customer, an original Defender controls layout is setup at the control panel center front.

H. Examples of customized Ultra machine:

You can customize the look of your Ultra machine by selecting from a wide range of color options and marquee design -

As shown in first photo, a custom designed marquee.
Black gloss painted cabinet (or any Behr exterior latex gloss color, samples at Home Depot).
White edge T-molding (or many other colors available).
Diamond plate look control panel overlay (or many other colors available).
Button colors as shown (or any of 6 colors available).
Joystick color black (or red also available).
Start buttons white with player icons (or any of 6 colors available).
White trackball (or other colors available).

I. Example of Ultra machine prepared for shipment:

The pallet and all of the packing materials are new, valued around $50, and all are reusable around your home and shop.

When you receive your new machine, loosen the two ratchet straps, and if you ordered wheels, slide the machine off the pallet rails, and roll the machine to where ever you want.

In this example, the machine is outfitted with the wide control panel. The panel is mounted vertically at the front of the cabinet which allows the machine to easily fit through doorways and stairways.

To prevent damage to the cabinet and loosening of the control panel deck, do not remove the stretch wrap and packing until the machine is in its final location.

J. Instructions for attaching the wide control panel deck:

Step-by-step instructions -

1) Requires two people to properly handle the control panel and its deck.

2) Remove packing wrap from around cabinet, while leaving the panel/deck in its upright position (as shown in first and second photos above).

3) Rotate panel/deck counterclockwise to level position, remove the blanket cushion, and place panel/deck onto its cabinet position (as shown in photos in section K below).

4) Carefully, while avoiding forcing and accidentally unfastening any panel wiring, reach through the front access door and unlatch the panel from the deck, there is one latch at the right and at the left ends of deck.

5) Latches are attached to the deck and loosened by lifting upwards at the bottom of the latch with thumb or finger, and then disengaging the latch from the catch attached to the panel.

6) Two people should lift at the rear of the panel and rotate rear of panel towards deck front, then rest front edge of panel on front side of deck, this will expose the inside of the deck.

7) While one person holds the panel upright and stable, the other person can install the provided bolts to fasten the deck to the cabinet.

8) There are four bolts with wing nuts (as shown in third photo above), insert the bolts into the four deck holes that align with the four cabinet holes.

9) When bolting is complete, inspect panel that no wires have been accidentally detached during the process, inspect that no wiring is pinched between the panel and deck, inspect that no wiring interferes with the latches, and then return panel to its place on the deck.

10) Re-latch panel to the deck.

11) Installation is complete.
