Hi! With 30 years experience and a stack of my old Star Tech Journals at hand, I thought that this would be a good time and place to share some classic arcade video game service tips.
Now, I am not thinking high-tech here, just some basic, nuts-and-bolts service tips and solutions. The kind that could be really useful for the home game owner, the do-it-yourselfer, and the game hobbyist.
I plan to cover a few subjects from time to time. My How-To articles will include a discussion of tools, materials, sources, tips, and techniques.
Some of the more basic topics will include:
- How to clean up a nasty printed circuit board.
- How to replace T-molding on a classic Midway cabinet.
- How to install a monitor capacitor kit.
- Typical monitor problems and the suspect capacitor. And,
- How to replace an old inline with a new switching power supply.
So, you can benefit in two ways:
First, you can use the "Subscribe For Updates" opt-in found near the top of the right column. You would then receive by email each of my service tip articles as they are published.
And second, if you are having a service problem now, you can send me an email and inquire about our Tech Support service.
I will attempt to offer an answer the same day, or as soon as possible.
Plus, you can scroll further down to find a Service Tips By Others section. In this section, I will provide links to service tip articles and videos by other technicians and operators.
