Hi! An arcade video game marquee, or sometimes called a header, is the game title logo located at the front top of the game cabinet.
The original game marquees were made of either acrylic, tempered glass, translite, or stick-on vinyl.
For example, Atari marquees were made of tempered glass, such as for Centipede. Midway used acrylic, such as for Ms. Pac-Man. And very often, Nintendo used a vinyl stick-on, such as for Vs. Super Mario Bros. Translite marquees came along later, and are used for almost all modern arcade games.
In this photo, the marquee is the Street Fighter II logo. But obviously, this is not an original Street Fighter II game cabinet.
Indeed, this is a photo of an Ace Amusements custom refurbished competition style cabinet.
Our customer's favorite game is Street Fighter II, so that is what he named his new custom multicade.
At Ace Amusements, we offer three marquee options for your custom built multicade:
(You can click any image for a larger view.)
1. Shown in this image is the standard multicade marquee.
This is a very popular marquee, as the multicade's cabinet and button color selections can easily compliment the marquee colors.
This marquee is made of practically indestructible polycarbonate material.
This is the standard multicade marquee, there is no extra charge:
And, at no extra charge, you can personalize the marquee with your name or other wording:
2. A particular game title marquee, like the Street Fighter II marquee in the cabinet shown above.
There is a $50 charge for game title marquees printed on polycarbonate.
With this option, you can custom brand your new multicade with your family name, business name, alma mater (like this photo), favorite association, favorite sports team, favorite video game, or with just whatever strikes your fancy.
(One customer named his custom multicade after his wife... Pretty smart.)
The custom designed marquee will be made of the polycarbonate material.
There is a $75 charge for custom designed marquees.
Here are a few examples of our customers' custom designed marquees:
Our marquees are printed on the polycarbonate material with an adhesive backing. Thus, the marquee can be mounted translite style, behind a panel of new clear acrylic. Or, in stick-on style, adhered to the front of the acrylic panel.
If you do not specify a preference, we will mount the marquee in the translite style. This method provides complete protection for the marquee.
