B. Before and After Galaga Repair:
This customer bought a Galaga at auction for a really good price... Uh-oh.
Got it home and soon after, the cheap rip-off non-repairable Galaga game board crashed.
After considering several options, the game owner hired us to replace the rip-off with an original Galaga board.
This project required -
- replacement of the rip-off with an original game board,
- installation of a new arcade switching power supply,
- restoration of the wiring harness to original specs,
- various cabinet repairs,
- replacement of some faulty parts,
- re-do of some cabinet mess-ups by the prior owner, and
- general clean-up of a rats-nest of loose and dangerous wiring.

C. Tron arcade video game restoration and multi game upgrade:
What happens when you allow the wife's car into your garage man cave?
Yep, you guessed it.
Something horrible happens... A dead, broken, smashed Tron.
So, we took the Tron into our operating room.
Added 25 classic games (without altering the original appearance), added lots of our TLC,
and brought Tron back to life... Now a beauty, and way better than the original one game machine.
D. Cosmic Avenger arcade video game upgrade:
This customer inherited his grandmother's favorite arcade video game. It was a cherished family heirloom.
The machine was in pretty nice condition, but it did not work. And, it only played the one game, Universal's 1981 Cosmic Avenger.
A fun game, very much like Konami's 1981 Scramble, but there are so many other games than Cosmic Avenger.
So, the customer entrusted us to work on their family treasure, and above all, to take as good care of it as they had. Moreover, to keep it looking as original as possible, while upgrading it to play as many other games as possible.
Mission accomplished. The work is complete and the Cosmic Avenger looks almost like new and now plays close to 3,000 arcade video games.
Like most jobs requiring a complete rebuild of the control panel, we spent days rebuilding just the control panel. Almost, twice as long as we spent gutting and upgrading the cabinet with all new components, and polishing up the cabinet's exterior.
Here are a few photos of the progress:
