Regardless of whether your favorite game is displayed in a vertical monitor orientation (such as Ms. Pac-Man or Galaga), or horizontal (Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat), they are all here. There are two other Games Family systems similar to the 1940-in-1 - they are the 1315-in-1 and the 2477-in-1. Be sure to visit those system pages for lots more information about the Games Family system features. And, visit this page for even more info about the Games Family multicade system. Hi! The Games Family 1940-in-1 multigame system is a monster offering of practically all of the best arcade video games.
To assist in game list navigation, the game titles are presented in two types of list formats. The first format is simply a list of all 1,940 game titles, called the All category. The second format style is by category.
These are the game categories, the number of titles in each, and a sample of the games:
- Special - 1,184 mixed titles from all categories, which can be seen on the monitor screen in the photo to the right (click photo for a larger view).
- Stage - 349 titles - Alien vs. Predator, Ghost'n Goblins.
- Flying - 201 titles - 1944, Defender.
- Wrestle - 116 titles - Karate Champ, Mortal Kombat.
- Maze - 313 titles - Galaga, Ms. Pac-Man
- Sport - 195 titles - '88 Games, Hang-on.
- Misc. - 210 titles - Asteroids, Battle Zone.
- Vertical - 1 title - Ryu Jin.
- Adult - 25 titles - Gals Panic, Gals Pinball.
- All - 1,940 titles, the complete 1 and 2-player games list.
Category lists and game titles can be added or deleted from view. The default listing setting is the first 7 game categories shown above.
When placing your order, let me know if you prefer a different games list setting than the 7 default categories.
The 1940-in-1 system does not offer a freeplay setting. So for home use, a credit button can be installed either on the control panel, on the cabinet near the coin door, or on the coin door. In the photo above, the credit button is the blue button located on the cabinet near the coin door. This is the default button location.
When placing your order, let me know if you prefer a different button location than that shown in the photo.
The 1940-in-1 system features two channel stereo audio. This means that, when available, your cabinet will have two speakers. And, that the game music and sounds are as good as, if not better than, the original.
Since the 1940-in-1 monitor is oriented horizontally, vertical format games, such as Galaga and Ms. Pac-Man, will appear an inch or two shorter than normal. And, several inches wider than normal, depending on the screen width. Other than that appearance change, the vertical games play just like the originals.
If you prefer the vertical games to appear proportionally more like the originals, there is a $100 upgrade fee. Please specify the Vertical Formatting upgrade when you place your order.
If you are seeking the most realistic presentation of the vertical classics, you should consider the iCade 60-in-1 custom multicade, or the Babystar 465-in-1 vertical classics multicade. These two systems employ a vertically mounted monitor. And thus, vertical games that are formatted like the originals.
If you like the trackball games - like Centipede, Golden Tee, and Missile Command - they are found in the Games Family Ultra Edition 2477-in-1 and Games Family Killer Edition 1315-in-1.

Here is our feedback from a 1940-in-1 customer:
"Outstanding customer service - Outstanding games! Had Steve repair a Golden Tee and he called before I returned home to let me know it was a simple parts replacement. Repaired the game and I was back in a short time. His professional business conduct and expert knowledge on arcade games made me return to purchase another game.
Purchased a 1940-in-1 and have enjoyed it as well as our rental facility. Keeps our renters coming back for more laughs. I fully endorse Ace Amusements and Steve to anyone who's looking for great arcade games and repairs."
